2021 Senior Expo News!!
Good afternoon Senior Expo Friends and Supporters:
I’m writing today to share with you some exciting news. Senior Expo 2021 is currently in the works, and WILL be held next year! The event will be held virtually however, to ensure the health and safety of all participants.
As you all know, this event provides much needed education to the seniors in our community, as well as the needed funding for the BASA Cares and Senior Support grants that BASA provides to our community on an annual basis. The support of organizations like yours is what makes these much needed programs possible! We will be adjusting sponsorship and vendor costs to correspond to the new format, and will announce those changes as soon as they are completed. Given the New Year is fast approaching, we wanted to ensure you had up to date information for consideration and planning of your marketing efforts for next year.
As always, we appreciate your support and look forward to
working with you to make Senior Expo 2021 a huge success. I’m available to discuss any question you may
have. Please let me know if you would like to schedule a time to discuss how this may look for your organization next year.

Ideas for Life Senior Expo 2020
Bay Area Senior Advocates (BASA) are proud to announce the 19th Annual “Ideas for Life” Senior Expo, scheduled on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center, in Traverse City, Michigan.
All ages are invited to attend, as the expo features many local and statewide services available to older adults, their caregivers, friends and family. By hosting such a wide variety of exhibitors, the expo serves as a convenient and engaging way for people to learn about the range of programs and services available in our region.
The theme for this year’s event is “20/20 enVision Your Future” and will feature over 100 organizations offering products and services to help seniors and their families navigate aging successfully. Attendees can expect to find wellness screenings and giveaways, as well as the information from service providers. The expo is an engaging event for everyone, as creative exhibitors share product samples, and interactive games.
Expo proceeds support the BASA Cares grant program. Each year, BASA awards ten $1,000 grants to organizations in the community that support older adults. They also allocate $15,000 to assist seniors’ unmet needs—everything from heating assistance to dental care.
Again this year, attendees can sample a variety of food offerings in a unique “Taste of Traverse” strolling luncheon at the event. Food will be served throughout the duration of the event allowing everyone to enjoy a leisurely day.
“We know that when people realize what is important to help them live their lives to the fullest, they will not only be happier, but will live longer as a result. As advocates for older adults in our community, our goal is to assist in any way we can to help families and individuals gain the information they need to prepare for the future,” says Amy Northway, Monarch Home Health Services.
